Columbia River CRKT 6783N Large Zytel Crawford / Kasper Tactical Folding Knife

NOTES

Columbia River CRKT 6783N Large Zytel Crawford / Kasper Tactical Folding Knife. 5-3/8 inches closed. 9-1/4 inches open. "6783N" tang stamp. Blade etched "Crawford KASPER" and "U.S.PAT.NO. 5,596,808". Stainless liners covered with black Zytel? scales give this knife a very hefty feel. A thumb scallop on each side leads to the thumb stud for easier opening and more secure grip. An integral part of this tactical folder is the patented Lake & Walker Safety (LAWKS). Located at the top front of the knife, the LAWKS mechanism insures that the blade will remain locked under heavy cross stress. The lock is a Walker-Lock secured by the LAWKS safety.

While using this knife you will discover that your fingers are raised above the blade and away from the surface, and the index finger groove keeps it from slipping down to the blade. Friction grooves on the top of the handle and on the liner lock provide a more secure grip especially under wet conditions.

The handle shape is classic Kasper profile, ample without being cumbersome. The textured black Zytel? scales are flat with no swell so the knife won’t print in the pocket, and to make drawing smoother. The thumb scallop on the left scale acts as an index point for the initial grip and draw, is also a ramp leading down to the thumb stud, and helps the index finger secure a more positive grip. The thumb ramp has aggressive friction grooves to ensure thumb purchase under slippery conditions. The blade is a stout, modified clip point of 420J2 stainless steel, double hollow ground and bead-blast finished to cut reflectivity. Both Razor-Sharp and Combination Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated blades are available. The thumb ramp features double thumb studs for ambidextrous use.
