Vintage 70s Kissing Crane Robert Klaas LEE & GRANT Civil War Pocket Knife Set of 4 3-blade cigar whittlers. Made in Germany. Limited edition #0442 of 1500. The Civil War themed set commemorates General Lee, General Grant, and their troops. It consists of four knives: Gen. Robert E. Lee, Johnny Reb, Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, and Billy Yank. Blades are etched "Gen. Robert E. Lee 1 of 1500" ; "Johnny Reb 1 of 1500"; "Gen. Ulysses S. Grant 1 of 1500"; and "Billy Yank 1 of 1500"; all with a portrait and decorative scrollwork. Tang Stamps read "LIMITED EDITION" with eagle on front of all master blades; Kissing Crane logo with "Solingen Germany" below on front of secondary blades. Front bolsters are all etched with serial #0442. Stag handles. The two General's knives are slightly larger (1/2") than their corresponding troop knives: 4-1/2 inches closed and 8 inches open. The troop knives are 4 inches closed and 6-7/8 inches open. USA and CSA shields.

Condition: Very fine condition - unused, uncarried, and unsharpened. Bolsters have developed a few spots during storage, and blades have some very minor scratches. Shields have some discoloration. Johnny Reb  and Ge. Grant knives each have one small crack in handle. No wobble. Excellent snap. Clam shell case has some spots/tears on front.
